Webinar - Matador Team Holds Pistoia Alliance Webinar on FAIR Data at Astra Zeneca
This Japanese language webinar was led by Matador's bicultural/bilingual team and featured a dubbed recording of Astra Zeneca's previous "How FAIR is my data: the FAIRe(nough) benchmark at AstraZeneca" webcast introduced by Chazia as the Japan lead for Pistoia Alliance and with Matador FAIR data expert Patrick introducing and clarifying Astra Zeneca's explanation. The event reflects Matador's ongoing commitment to helping advance data accessibility and interoperability within the Japanese life sciences sector.
The event was attended by a diverse range of organizations, including prominent pharmaceutical companies, cutting-edge biotechnology firms, research institutes, academia, contract research organizations (CROs), the chemical industry, and governmental bodies. Matador was grateful of the enthusiasm and engagement of the participants, with an overwhelming majority actively participating and remaining engaged throughout the webinar.
The webinar began with an introduction to the Pistoia Alliance and its impactful activities. This was followed by a presentation from two distinguished experts at AstraZeneca. Matador Japan played a pivotal role in moderating the session and facilitating discussions. The webinar was of course held entirely in Japanese and managed by our multicultural team of experts.
The webinar centered around the FAIR principles – an essential framework for effective data management that emphasizes data findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability. The real-world application of these principles, tailored to various backgrounds and application needs, was a central focus of the discussions.
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of AstraZeneca's FAIRe(nough) benchmark, a pioneering initiative that aims to integrate data products and systems within specific contexts and purposes. Attendees gained valuable insights from both high-level and low-level metrics, which are integral to successful data integration and FAIR-ization projects.
"We are thrilled by the overwhelming success of our inaugural webinar in collaboration with the Pistoia Alliance and of course Astra Zeneca," stated John Bolger, CEO of Matador Japan. "The robust attendance underscores the industry's hunger for practical solutions in ensuring data FAIRness. This webinar has not only educated attendees about FAIR principles but also equipped them with tangible insights for their data compliance journey."
Matador Japan and Pistoia Alliance remain steadfast in their commitment to fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and propelling the life sciences sector forward. The success of this webinar is a testament to their shared vision of a more connected and FAIR-aligned industry.
Matador will be hosting more webinars in the near future. Please watch here for updates.
